ACADEMIC YEAR
The academic year is divided into two semesters of at least 16 weeks. The first semester runs from approximately June-October. The second semester runs from November-March.
COURSE NUMBERING
Lower division courses are generally numbered 1-99. Upper division courses are numbered 100-200. Graduate courses are numbered 201-400.
CREDIT UNITS
Credits are in semester hours. Most courses meet for three hours per week. Each unit of credit carries at least 16 semester-hours of instruction. Laboratories are credited at one unit for each three-hour period.
ACADEMIC LOAD
For undergraduates, the maximum academic load is 18 non-laboratory units.
MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
The medium of instruction is English.
SEMESTER DURING WHICH COURSES ARE OFFERED
In UPLB's catalog, each course description is followed by a notation in parentheses, designation when the course is offered. For example, (1,2) indicates that the course is offered in both the first and second semester.
