Robert Richardson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community, Agriculture, Recreation, and Resource Studies (CARRS), and an affiliate faculty member with MSU’s Center for Advanced Study of International Development, the African Studies Center, and the Environmental Science and Policy Program. His work has focused on sustainable development, natural-resource based tourism, and the economic impacts of climate change. He uses non-market valuation techniques to measure the economic value of natural resources. He has worked in West Africa, Australia, and Central America, and he is now involved in the study of natural resource uses and sustainable tourism development in Zambia as part of the Food Security Research Project (FSRP).
