Nicole Mason joined MSU in August 2011 as a Visiting Assistant Professor, International Development, associated with the Food Security Group. She is currently on long-term assignment in Lusaka, Zambia with the Indaba Agriculture Policy Research Institute (IAPRI), formerly the Food Security Research Project. As part of the IAPRI team, Nicole is involved in food policy research, outreach, and capacity building activities. As part of her capacity building portfolio, she is collaborating with Zambian counterparts to strengthen the new masters program in agricultural economics at the University of Zambia. Prior to her graduate studies, Nicole served as a Peace Corps Volunteer working on agricultural development and environmental education projects in a rural community in Guinea. She also worked at the Partnership to Cut Hunger and Poverty in Africa.
