Each candidate will provide a presentation followed by an open forum at 105 South Kedzie, 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. After each forum, stakeholders will have an opportunity to meet with the respective candidate. The MSU community and stakeholders are also invited to a reception for each finalist in the Agriculture Hall Atrium, 4:45 - 5:45 p.m.

FACULTY/STAFF PARKING AUG. 23-25
Faculty/Staff parking will not be permitted in areas immediately surrounding the residence halls on Tues., Wed. & Thurs., Aug. 23-25. Only student vehicles with a special 20-min. parking permit will be allowed in these areas during residence hall move-in. Faculty/staff who regularly park in areas adjacent to residence halls will be directed to temporary parking areas including parking ramps and lots within a 5-minute walk.
A reminder that faculty/staff permits are not valid in areas of special event parking, and the residence hall move-in event is supported by DPPS. For a list of CATA bus route changes, please visit www.cata.org and click in the Rider Alert link.

FELLOWSHIPS
THE BROOKINGS INSTITUTION seeks for the Okun-Model Early-Career Fellowships in Economic Studies for the academic year 2006-2007. The Fellowship is designed to offer outstanding economists the opportunity to pursue their own independent research on applied and policy issues in economics over the course of a year. Fellows will draw on the resources of scholars at Brookings and the extended policy community in Washington, DC. Fellows will participate in workshops & conferences; spend up to one year at Brookings. Brookings will provide salary and partial support for staff & research assistance. Required: junior faculty members who have between two & six years of teaching experience; have a Ph.D. or equivalent and be committed to undertaking research on real-world issues in economics and public policy; an expressed interest in analyzing applied and policy issues and empirical research with accessibly written proposals that address important issues in both economics and policy. Submit: curriculum vitae; short (500 word) research proposal; Two letters of recommendation; copies of up to five significant publications and working papers. MSUs 150th ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITIES
Oct. 7 - Water Carnival on the Red Cedar River, 5:30 to 7:30 pm followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
Oct. 8 - MSU Sesquicentennial Parade, 12 noon at the Frandor Shopping Center. This 2.5 mile parade will travel down Michigan Ave., East Grand River Ave. and through the MSU campus ending at the Sparty Statue near Spartan Stadium. Past MSU Presidents and their families have been invited to serve as Grand Marshals for this event. Following the parade the newly bronzed Sparty Statue will be dedicated.

THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY IN CAIRO (AUC) seeks to fill the newly created position of Director of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Issa al Jaber Center for Peace, Democracy and Sustainable Development. The Director will report to the Provost and will be responsible for the creation, promotion and coordination of a new and innovative Center. Required: The ability to work creatively and collegially with faculty in a variety of disciplines and with other academic administrators, including those already engaged in related programs, will be necessary. Candidates should be broadly knowledgeable about international relations, public affairs and development issues in the middle east. Prior experience in conducting and overseeing policy research programs and activities is also preferred. The Director will play a major role in shaping the Center's research programs and outreach activities, working closely with an international advisory committee of experts. This is a three-year appointment subject to mutual agreement, to begin January 2006. Renewal of an appointment depends upon institutional needs and/or the appointee's performance. For expatriates, benefits include housing, annual round-trip air travel for appointee and qualifying dependents, plus schooling for the equivalent of up to two children at Cairo American College.
