FACULTY MEETINGS
Please note the date and time for the Dept. of Agricultural Economics' 2005 annual faculty meeting is Thursday, June 23, 12 noon to 3 pm.  The meeting will be held in Kellogg Center, Red Cedar Rooms A&B.  A light lunch will be provided.
 
AG HALL EMERGENCY GENERATOR TESTING
Physical Plant Maintenance personnel will be testing the emergency generator at AG HALL.  This will require Physical Plant electricians to have the life safety systems power off on June 27, from 6:15 a.m. to 7:15 a.m.  This shutdown will affect the stairwell lighting, exit lighting, fire alarm systems, phone systems & any other equipment on the emergency generator and will not affect normal building power.

WELCOME
The Department welcomes Dr. Eric Scorsone who joined the faculty Monday, June 13th as Extension Specialist-State & Local Government.  Eric, who is a graduate of Loyola (BS 1989), Michigan State University Ag Economics (MS 1996), and Colorado State University (PhD 2001), comes to us after spending three years as a faculty member in community and economic development at University of Kentucky.  Eric will be filling the role of Gary Taylor who resigned in September to take a faculty role at Iowa State University. While at Colorado, Eric worked in the Governor's Budget Office.

Eric is located in room 88 Ag Hall and can be reached at 353-9460, intercom 156. We are awaiting his MSU e-mail address. Please stop by and welcome Eric to the department.
 
BROWN BAG LUNCH
Nigel Griswold, newly elected brown bag lunch coordinator, announcing the first brown bag lunch:
June 28, 12 noon, June 28 in Room 75 Ag. Hall.  Eli Fenichel will give a seminar on generalized tricks, hints, shortcuts, equation writing, management, and strategy when using Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic to deal with your data.  Grab a lunch and come join the spreadsheet management fun!

FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING
