AG HALL - SMOKE HEAD TESTING
Physical Plant Maintenance Services will be testing smoke heads at Ag. Hall, on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 8 am to 4 pm.  No alarms will sound during this testing.  Your cooperation during this utility interruption is appreciated.

CONDOLENCES
The Department extends condolences to Gloria Bateman whose father, William Eubanks (86), passed away Sat., Feb. 12.  Gloria is out of the office but plans to return to work at PFID on Monday (Feb. 21).

AGRICULTURES CONFERENCE ON THE ENVIRONMENT

- Agricultures Conference on the Environment is at the Kellogg Center, E. Lansing from 9 am to 4 pm. Economic changes & regulations that influence your farm are being created & enforced every day.  No matter what type or size farm you have, you need to: take advantage of current & future agriculture trends; maximize your understanding of laws & regulation that impact agriculture; learn more on protecting the environment on your farm; prepare for econ. incentives & partnerships; water use and monitoring; alternative energy; new rules, new programs who can help?; environmental risk management. THE BROOKINGS INSTITUTION
is seeking for a Senior Research Associate (#1405); Implements and oversees the "metropolitan economy" project, a new multi-year research and policy project to help state and local decision-makers better understand the dynamics of their metro economies and to offer a range of grounded strategies to help them adapt to evolving market realities implements and manages all four components of the metro economy project(1) understanding the impact of global, technological, industry, and other macro trends on regional economies; (2) developing and comparing trends across city/metro economies; (3) determining what factors matter to metropolitan market performance; and (4) examining and evaluating a range of economic development strategies.  examines the academic and policy literature on each of these four areas.
